Caring for Your Veermakers Furniture
Timeless pieces deserve thoughtful care. At Veermakers, we believe that furniture should not only last for generations—it should grow more beautiful with time. Each piece in our collection is crafted from authentic, high-quality materials that age naturally, gaining character along the way. To ensure your Veermakers objects maintains its elegance and integrity over the years, we've gathered our essential care recommendations below.

Wood
Our wooden pieces are crafted from carefully selected natural timbers that respond to their environment. To clean, gently wipe the surface with a dry cloth. If needed, use a slightly damp cloth, and in rare cases, a mild soap diluted in water. Avoid ammonia-based or alkaline cleaners, as they can damage the surface.
Spilled liquids such as coffee or wine should be wiped away immediately to prevent staining. To preserve the wood’s color, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and vary the placement of decorative objects to prevent uneven fading. We also recommend placing furniture away from heat sources or fluctuating humidity, as wood may expand, contract, or develop hairline cracks due to environmental changes.

Leather
To maintain the natural beauty of our leather, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth. Do not use liquids, solvents, or ammonia-based cleaners. Leather is sensitive to light—prolonged exposure to sunlight or intense artificial light can alter its color and texture over time. Keep it in shaded environments when possible.
Steel & Metals
Our black oxidized and Craft Black steel finishes are intended for indoor use only. For maintenance, use a damp cloth followed by a dry one to prevent water stains. Avoid harsh detergents, solvents, or abrasive cloths. Exposure to sunlight, moisture, and temperature changes can affect the appearance of metal over time.
For Craft Black finishes, we offer an oil kit upon request—ideal for restoring sheen when the surface begins to lose its luster.
Stone
Stone surfaces should be treated with care. Clean using a soft cotton cloth dampened with water, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth. Never use strong detergents, alcohol, or abrasive materials. Like wood, stone is sensitive to liquids—promptly wipe up any spills to avoid permanent staining, especially from coffee, wine, or acidic substances.
